one of Britain’s most charismatic
and electrifying performers! This
gifted singer-songwriter’s 20 year
career has embraced some notable
achievements, including 5 top 50 UK
chart positions. His lyrical
narratives often feature protests
against injustice and inhumanity. He

Winners of 2005 Juno Award for Best
Roots/Trad Group category, The
Wailin' Jennys have become a
hit on the Canadian music scene. This
indeed is “the sound of voices
three”, with soprano Ruth Moody,
mezzo Nicky Mehta, and alto Annabelle
Chvostek. Their masterful three-part
vocal harmonies are haunting and the
songs are an informed mix of original
and traditional tunes of various roots
styles. They are also impressive
multi-instrumentalists and in demand
across North America – enjoy!
Singer-songwriter
Michael Johnston will
open.

A very
much anticipated welcome back
to Oscar Lopez, after
a lengthy musical hiatus; he has won
the 2005 Juno Award for his album My
Destiny, with his hot trio of
Manuel Jara (rhythm guitar), and Hugh
McMillan (Spirit of the West) bass,
steel guitar. The Latin groove in his
music is one of the most important
elements for the Chilean born Lopez.
This will be one hot January night!
Ember
Swift

Tickets $20 in advance,
$23 at door

www.emberswift.com
Ember Swift is one
engaging singer-songwriter and
together with multi-instrumentalist
Lyndell Montgomery they combine folk,
jazz, funk, and world music beats.
They travel fluidly between genres and
easily shrug off any attempts to cloak
their music in any style category.
Ember’s songs shed light on many
topics from globalization to food
politics!
Nathan Rogers (son of
late Stan Rogers) will be the guest
tonight, putting out his own brand of
fusion folk; this new age troubadour
has some great songs and stories.
Chuck
Brodsky

Tickets $20 in advance,
$23 at door

www.chuckbrodsky.com
Chuck Brodsky is a
gifted musical storyteller, with a
dry, barb-witted social commentary.
His groove-oriented strumming and
finger picking draws on influences
from the mountains of western North
Carolina, where he now lives. His song
“Radio” was used in the 2003
movie, Radio. One of the finest
songwriters in the US, his latest CD, Colour
Came One Day, produced by J.P.
Cormier, is a folk classic!
The

North America.
