Biography
Born
in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada, Ed Pavy was surrounded
by music from an early age and spent hours listening to
Motown artists like Aretha Franklin and Otis Redding.
Inspired by the blues styles of Mike Bloomfield, Eric
Clapton and B.B. King, he picked up his first guitar
when he was eight years old. In his teens, Ed moved into
jazz and fusion, tapping into the music of Charlie
Parker, Larry Carlton and Robben Ford.
Ed’s
formal study of music continued at the prestigious
Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, where
he graduated with a Diploma in Orchestration, Modern
Harmony, Arranging & Improvisation. He then studied
with Joe Pass, Don Mock, Scott Henderson and Robben Ford
at The Musician’s Institute of Hollywood, California.
Returning to Canada, Ed attended York University in
Toronto, Ontario, where he completed a Bachelor of Fine
Arts and Computer Sciences.
Working
as both a solo performer and a sideman, Ed has toured
throughout the United States and Canada. He now lives in
the Turks and Caicos Islands, performing as a member of
the Parrot Cay house band with Julian Garland and Craig
Archibold.
